Subwoofer:
The Lava LSP08 is a front-firing, front-ported powerhouse featuring an 8 inch cellulose composite woofer. We don't use cheap paper cardboard woofers. This is the real deal and part of why Lava subwoofers outperform the competition. The new subwoofer drivers incorporate large magnets and voice coils which allows for high volumes and deep, rolling bass. Every subwoofer driver is tested to make sure that it holds up to LavaSub's strict specifications.
Enclosure:
The cabinet features two large, front-loaded ports located below the woofer. Ports this size allows for more air to escape the cabinet when the subwoofer is playing at high volumes, which provides deeper bass and longer life to the subwoofer and amplifier. Since the ports are located on the front of the cabinet, the subwoofer can be mounted into cabinetry without sacrificing any performance. The cabinet also features a black vinyl, lightly textured finish, and smoothly rounded corners.
The cabinets look as great as they sound. Enclosures are constructed of high-quality MDF material and a seamless black PVC finish that minimizes resonance and looks great. The LSP08 comes with an MDF grill frame covered with black speaker cloth.
Internal Amplifier:
The Lava LSP08 is powered by a 100 watt internal amplifier that provides home theater and stereo bass you can feel. The new amplifiers use a special design; with a heavy-duty transformer to minimize unwanted heat build up, the amps can drive harder and longer. This also means very low distortion and powerful reproduction of music and theater sound. With this kind of efficiency from an amplifier, you're guaranteed to get strong and clean bass at any listening level.

Lava LSP08 powered subwoofer extends the low frequency response of the system below 40Hz, with a low pass frequency response in the range of 37-150 Hz (+/-3 dB) and a 60 - 180 Hz continuously variable low pass crossover. In a surround sound system the LSP08 provides stunning reproduction of the LFE (low frequency effects) channel in the range of 20-380 Hz (+/-3dB). The LSP08 is also incredibly sensitive testing a 130mV at 100W.
